I went on a hunting trip several years ago in Florida with a group of friends. While out in the woods I senselessly killed a bird. The high powered rifle I shot it with blew this thing apart into a thousand feathers. Its mate flew down quickly afterwards to inspect what was left of them. This moment in my life has emotionally destroyed me to this day. If you start looking closer at my paintings you’ll notice that most contain this bird in one form or another perched in a tree or flying in the sky.
